The Giants are about to hire Frank Cignetti Jr. as their quarterbacks coach as new head coach Ben McAdoo fills out his staff.
Cignetti, who was the Rams’ offensive coordinator last season before being fired, was a coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania when McAdoo was a student at the school.
Cignetti, who was the offensive coordinator at Rutgers in 2011, was fired after a 27-3 loss to the Cardinals in Week 13. The Rams’ offense finished the season ranked last in the league.
“It was, in my estimation, time to move in a different direction,” Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said at the time.
