Giants safety’s poignant ode to cousin slain in San Bernardino

Giants safety Nat Berhe could barely process what was happening as he watched news accounts of the shooting massacre turning his native San Bernardino, Calif., into just another site of unspeakable violence.

Even in tragedy, there was relief, though, as he received a text letting him know that his brother and his parents were safe.

The next day, Berhe, 24, received another text from his brother, asking him to call.

“They killed Isaac yesterday,” Berhe’s brother said. “He was at the IRC building for a holiday party. I can’t believe it.
