Giants safety: Cousin killed in San Bernardino shooting

Giants safety Nat Berhe said on Twitter on Thursday that his cousin was killed during Wednesday’s mass shooting in San Bernardino, CA.

After the shooting occurred Wednesday, Berhe said his parents worked near the building in which the shooting took place, when 14 people were shot and killed.

Berhe, 24, attended nearby Colton High School and also said on Twitter “send a prayer up for my hometown #San Bernardino.”

The southern California native played football at San Diego State and was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round in 2014.

He played in all 16 games last season as a rookie before being lost for 2015 following calf surgery.
