The New York Giants continued an active period of roster shuffling on Thursday by signing veteran running back Joshua Kelley to the team’s 90-man roster, per multiple reports. To make room for Kelley, the Giants cut safety Elijah Riley.
The Giants needed to add a running back with Tyrone Tracy (ankle) and Dante Miller (hamstring) unable to practice or to play on Saturday in preseason action against the Houston Texans. With only Devin Singletary, Eric Gray and newly-signed Lorenzo Lingard healthy, the Giants had to give Lingard some first-team reps on Tuesday. That was one day after the former undrafted free agent had signed with the team.
