The New York Giants Monday signed offensive tackle Emmett Cleary off their practice squad, adding him to their 53-man roster. To make room for Cleary, the Giants waived cornerback Tramain Jacobs, who played two games with the team, being used on special teams.
Cleary, 25, was with the Giants during the preseason and was signed to the practice squad before the regular season began. With the news that Will Beatty will not return this season, Weston Richburg having injured an ankle Sunday against the New England Patriots and Geoff Schwartz fighting through issues with the ankle he broke a season ago Cleary offers the Giants added protection on the offensive line.
