Only a few days after signing Corey Clement following his tryout during rookie minicamp, the New York Giants have continued to add to the running back room. Tuesday, the Giants claimed running back Ryquell Armstead off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars and waived quarterback Joe Webb.
The former Temple Owl played sparingly in his rookie year, finishing with 35 carries for 108 rushing yards and 14 receptions for 144 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
With COVID-19 being the cause for multiple respiratory issues that even necessitated hospital stays, Armstead spent the entire season on IR while undrafted free agent rookie James Robinson broke out.
