The New York Giants Wednesday announced that they have waived tight end Eric Dungey and added tight end Isaiah Searight to their 90-man roster. The move comes one day before the first practice of training camp.
Dungey, the former Syracuse quarterback, was being looked in a hybrid tight end/quarterback role. Dungey lost his opportunity when he missed most of the spring with an apparent back injury.
Searight played collegiately at Fordham. Here is part of his Fordham bio:
A three-year starter and three-time All-Patriot League selection... Tied the school record for career touchdowns by a tight end (10) and was just the fourth Ram tight end in school history with more than 1,000 career receiving yards (1,119).
