Ryquell Armstead did not last long with the New York Giants. Claimed off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars on May 18, the running back was waived by the Giants on Thursday.
A fifth-round pick by the Jaguars in 2019, he played in all 16 games for Jacksonville that season. Armstead carried 35 times for 108 yards (3.1 yards per carry) and caught 14 passes.
He missed all of last season due to COVID-19. Jacksonville placed him on the COVID-19 reserve list twice as he was reportedly hospitalized on two occasions with respiratory issues.
