Needing depth at inside linebacker, the New York Giants are reportedly promoting undrafted rookie Josiah Tauaefa from their practice squad. Dan Duggan of The Athletic was first to report the news.
The Giants placed starting inside linebacker Ryan Connelly on season-ending injured reserve on Monday after he suffered a torn ACL. Alec Ogletree (hamstring) and Tae Davis (concussion) missed Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins and their statuses going forward remain uncertain.
Connelly and David Mayo started at linebacker. After Connelly was injured, Mayo and Nate Stupar were the only inside linebackers left.
