While Giants left tackle Ereck Flowers draws most of the scrutiny, right tackle Bobby Hart's development will be of similar importance this season. The 2015 seventh-round pick took over as the starting right tackle in Week 3 last season after veteran Marshall Newhouse suffered a calf injury. Hart held the job until his performance dipped late in the season. Newhouse reclaimed the starting job in Week 17 and the playoffs, but he departed to Oakland this offseason. That leaves Hart as the returning right tackle. The Giants will need improved play from Hart and Flowers for their offense to perform better this season.
