As recently retired Osi Umenyiora was inducted into the Giants’ Ring of Honor, he watched Big Blue’s feeble pass rush struggle all night, in desperate need of injured former teammate Jason Pierre-Paul. Umenyiora said Pierre-Paul will play again someday, but for the moment his friend is just happy to be alive.
“I talked to him. He’s in good spirits,” Umenyiora said after being honored at halftime of the Giants’ 30-27 come-from-behind win over the Niners at MetLife Stadium. “He seems happy. I think he’s just happy he’s alive, you know what I mean, [after] all the stuff that he went through.
