The New York Giants gained some salary cap flexibility on Monday when they reportedly restructured the contract of left tackle Andrew Thomas.
Per Field Yates of ESPN, the Giants converted $4.175 million of Thomas’ base salary into a signing bonus, creating an additional $3.34 million in 2024 cap space.
Thomas signed a five-year, $117.5 million contract extension in 2023. Per Over The Cap, his cap hit was scheduled to be $23.263 million this season.
Yates estimated that the Giants have $18 million in cap space. Over The Cap, though, shows the Giants with $10.
