ARLINGTON, Texas -- Sunday night was supposed to be a measuring stick game, of sorts, for the Giants in the NFC East, but instead they depart AT&T Stadium with a sobering realization of how far this team is from competing in one of the NFL's strongest divisions following a 20-13 loss.
Despite the fact that the scoreboard revealed a one-score game, the Giants never really were in it, having not crossed midfield until 8:30 remained in the third quarter. Evan Engram's touchdown, Eli Manning's first and only passing touchdown to date this season, came with 1:32 remaining, only after the Cowboys called off the blitz and focused on protecting a 20-3 lead.
