NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Giants are reportedly turning to an old friend to fill the void created by the season-ending injury to Victor Cruz.

According to Fox Sports, the Giants intend to sign Nicks. The news came one day after Cruz announced that he would have surgery on his ailing left calf and miss the rest of the 2015 season.
A former two-time 1,000-yard receiver with the Giants, Nicks played a big role in Big Blue’s run to the Super Bowl championship during the 2011 season, but injuries eventually ended his tenure with New York.
