A day after signing former Ezekiel Elliott backup Rod Smith, the Giants released former undrafted free agent Rutgers running back Robert Martin.
Martin opened eyes at last year’s training camp and spent his rookie season on the practice squad before signing a futures/reserves contract this offseason.
Saquon Barkley’s backups are Wayne Gallman, Paul Perkins and Smith, with fullback Elijhaa Penny also in the mix.
