EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants have released wide receiver Preston Parker and signed defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis.
Coach Tom Coughlin announced the moves on Tuesday, two days before the winless Giants are to play the Washington Redskins (1-1) at MetLife Stadium.
Parker had five catches for 43 yards in the first two games, but he also had a couple drops.
The Giants also needed help on the defensive line with tackle Markus Kuhn sidelined and linemen Cullen Jenkins, Robert Ayers, Jay Bromley and Owa Odighizuwa fighting an assortment of injuries.
