Oshane Ximines was released from the New York Giants practice squad on Thursday, removing a homegrown player from the roster. Ximines was a 2019 third-round pick by then-GM Dave Gettleman.
Ximines, an edge defender, had a promising rookie season with 4.5 sacks but was never able to build on that. He had two sacks for the Giants in 15 games and a career-high 506 defensive snaps last season, but those were the only sacks he registered outside of his rookie season.
The Giants re-signed Ximines to a one-year deal this offseason to provide edge depth.
