Giants release Josh Brown following domestic violence revelations

The Giants have officially cut ties with Josh Brown.

The team announced it has released the kicker on its official Twitter account.

“We believed we did the right thing at every juncture in our relationship with Josh,” said team president John Mara in a statement. “Our beliefs, our judgments and our decisions were misguided. We accept that responsibility.”

Brown issued a statement to ESPN on Tuesday, apologizing to the Giants and Mara for having his actions question their “character and integrity” and saying he is trying to become “the voice of change, not a statistic” regarding domestic violence.
