Janoris Jenkins has more time to tweet now.
The Giants released the controversial cornerback on Friday, a day after he defended his decision to call a fan a “retard” on Twitter.
“This was an organizational decision,” coach Pat Shurmur said in a Giants press release. “From ownership to management to our football operations, we felt it was in the best interests of the franchise and the player. Obviously, what happened this week, and the refusal to acknowledge the inappropriate and offensive language, was the determining factor.”
Jenkins was cut with the designation waived/injured as he rehabs from an ankle injury.
