So much for the idea of starting a winning streak. The New York Giants lost to the Washington Redskins, 20-10, Thursday night in a game that featured an excruciating lack of competent offense.
Washington got the game-winning score when Kirk Cousins passed 14 yards to Josh Doctson with 3:39 to play. The Redskins added a Nick Rose field goal with 1:49 remaining.
The loss guaranteed that the 2-9 Giants will have a losing season.
The Giants defense took advantage of a Washington offensive line missing three starters to sack Cousins six times.
