The 2024 season was always going to be about Daniel Jones for the New York Giants.
We know the Giants tried to trade up for Drake Maye, and that Brian Daboll would have backed a trade up for Jayden Daniels if such a move was possible. Neither of those routes were open to the Giants so their plan was to see, once and for all, whether Daniel Jones is The Guy.
So far the returns aren’t encouraging. Jones has thrown the ball to the wrong team five times (though Derek Stingley dropped the first one) through six quarters of preseason and regular season football.
