A hamstring injury ended wide receiver Darius Powe's bid to make the Giants' roster this preseason. Now, Powe is no longer a member of the team.
Powe was waived/injured by the Giants last Wednesday and the sides reached an injury settlement on Tuesday.
The injury settlement runs though Week 1 of the regular season, according to a person familiar with the situation. That means Powe will receive 1/17th of his $465,000 salary for the one week of the season it was determined he will sidelined by the hamstring injury.
Powe was in contention for a roster spot with the Giants after a strong showing in training camp and he could be re-signed.
