Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara will miss 2-4 week with a partially torn pectoral muscle, a significant blow to a defense that is already last in the league against the pass and has been susceptible to late-game drives.
"It's most unfortunate," Tom Coughlin said. "He's made a lot of plays this fall. But we'll continue on and we will get him back."
Coughlin said Amukamara is not a candidate for injured reserve with a designation to return because he figures to be back before the eight weeks that status would require him to miss.
Jayron Hosley will make his second start of the season in place of Amukamara on Monday night in Philadelphia against the Eagles.
