Rookies reported to the New York Giants for training camp on Tuesday, and we already have a report on something going wrong. Tight end Theo Johnson, the team’s fourth-round pick, has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Johnson participated in practices throughout the spring with no sign of injury. There is no word at this time as to what caused Johnson to be placed on the PUP list, and nothing is known about the severity.
Johnson is expected to at least play a role as a part-time receiving threat in passing situations as the look to replace the retired Darren Waller at the tight end position.
