Justin Pugh’s season is over, and his Giants career may be as well.
The offensive lineman will be placed on injured reserve after receiving a second opinion on his back injury from specialist Robert Watkins in Los Angeles, the Giants said. He will not require surgery — rest and rehabilitation have been prescribed — but he will not be healthy enough to play with just three games left in the season.
Pugh, a former first-round pick of the Giants, will be a free agent this offseason.
“I would think any guy that’s in that situation would be a little bit bummed out,” interim head coach Steve Spagnuolo said.
