The New York Giants have placed linebackers Mark Herzlich on the injured reserve list.
Herzlich suffered a stinger early in training camp and didn’t participate in any pre-season games.
The Giants placed Herzlich on the injured reserve as a part of their cut-down to a 53-man roster. This move effectively ends his 2017 season before it even began, and it could also mark the end of his time with the Giants.
Herzlich has been a key special teams player and back-up at the middle and strong side linebacker positions since being signed by the team as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College in 2011.
