Giants-Patriots inactives: DL Dexter Lawrence won’t play

The New York Giants will have a massive hole in their defensive line on Sunday as Dexter Lawrence (hamstring) will be inactive. This will be the first game in Lawrence’s five-year career that he misses due to injury. Lawrence missed a game in 2020 due to COVID.

A second-team All-Pro in 2022, Lawrence has 4.0 sacks and a team-leading 17 quarterback hits. Per Pro Football Focus, Lawrence (92.8) is the NFL’s highest-graded interior defensive lineman this season.

With Lawrence out, rookie Jordon Riley, a seventh-round pick, will be active. Riley has played in only two games.
