The Giants released offensive lineman Will Beatty, who missed the entire 2015 season due to injury, on Wednesday, multiple sources confirmed to NJ Advance Media.
Beatty, 30, was a second-round pick by the Giants out of UConn in 2009. He was on the 2011 team that won Super Bowl XLVI, but was placed on injured reserve late in the regular season. By cutting Beatty, the Giants will save $4.175 million in salary cap space. The Giants also released guard Geoff Schwartz and linebacker Jon Beason on Wednesday, although Beason may instead opt to retire, according to a source.
