Tom Coughlin won’t be the head coach of the Eagles, which is something the Giants’ owners are very pleased about.
“I’m not going to lie, it would have been like watching Bill Parcells walk out on the field with a star on his shirt,” John Mara said of the years when Parcells coached the Cowboys. “That was tough to see at the time and that would have bothered me.”
Co-owner Steve Tisch said it would have been hard to see Coughlin in green. “I see Tom in blue and red,” he said.
Tisch spoke about the decision to allow Coughlin to resign, and suggested – as many have speculated – that there was a nudge to push him in that direction.
