Giants owner on JPP: 'I don't know how many fingers he has'

When it comes to Jason Pierre-Paul, even John Mara is still in the dark.

The Giants owner addressed the media on Thursday at the team's practice facility and admitted that he has not been given an update on the defensive end's condition. Pierre-Paul was badly injured in a bizarre fireworks incident on July 4th that led to the amputation of his right index figure. The extent of the damage is unknown, even to the Giants and now at the start of training camp, JPP is MIA.

"I'm disappointed that he's not here," Mara said. "I think that this would be the best place for him to be for a number of reasons: he'd have an opportunity to learn the new defense, but more importantly, we have the best training staff in the league here and we have access to some of the best doctors in the world.
