Did the Giants overlook Washington?
It certainly looked and felt that way when the two teams played on Nov. 29 at FedEx Field. That was the game Tom Coughlin said the Giants “slept-walked” through the first three quarters before closing the gap with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns, but the defense ultimately could not get the ball back and Washington won, 20-14. The Giants were coming off a bye, having just barely lost to the then unbeaten Patriots, and had watched both the Eagles and Cowboys lose on Thanksgiving Day. It also turned out to be the last time the Giants went into a game in sole possession of first place in the NFC East.
