The third-year pass rusher was expected to figure more heavily into the Giants’ defensive scheme this season, trying to back up starters Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon.
Odighizuwa, 25, alarmed the Giants in April when he posted a cryptic tweet about needing to “take sometime to get away from the game.
