The DeOssie family bloodline runs deep within the Giants franchise, with father Steve and son Zak both winning Super Bowls while wearing blue. That came to an end on Saturday, when Zak DeOssie was officially put on season-ending injured reserve, a move that figures to end his time long-snapping in the NFL.
DeOssie just missed playing in his 200th game for the Giants. His 199 games played puts him fifth in franchise history, behind Eli Manning (234), Michael Strahan (216), Howard Cross (207) and George Martin (201). Manning is now the only remnant from the Giants’ most recent Super Bowl triumphs and he has not played since getting benched in Week 3.
