Will Hernandez is a rookie guard and Pat Shurmur is the first-year head coach, both launching their Giants careers together. Like all the players, Hernandez is getting to know Shurmur and the cafeteria at the team facility is a great place to break bread, bust chops and learn what the deal is with the fellow on line next to you.
“You can just tell he used to play O-line,’’ Hernandez said of Shurmur. “Especially when I walk by one day and his plate was really nice and packed, ready for lunch.
