Lyght, a former NFL player, is an assistant coach at Notre Dame.
“Outstanding football player, high football intelligence, very instinctive,” Lyght, 50, Notre Dame’s defensive backs coach and a 12-year NFL veteran, told the Daily News in a recent phone interview. “The thing I like about projecting Julian to the NFL is his position versatility.
“Coming into New York in his first year, I see him playing the nickel spot, a little outside corner and can see him playing safety, too,” added Lyght, the Philadelphia Eagles’ assistant DBs coach in 2013-14.
