The shootings in San Bernadino this week have hit the Giants close to home. Safety Nat Berhe, a second-year player who is on injured reserve, tweeted Thursday that he had learned one of the victims in the shooting was a relative.
“Just got word that one of my cousins was among the 14 killed yesterday, I’m so sick right now,” he posted.
It’s unclear who the cousin is. Authorities have released only four of the names of the victims.
Berhe was born in Fontana, California, and graduated from Colton High there. On Wednesday, the day of the shootings, he tweeted a map that showed how close the shooting area was to an office building where he says his parents work.
