Saquon Barkley, in Year 2 with the Giants, is not close to the player and performer he was in 2018 — when he was the runaway winner of the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. There is even more losing for Barkley to deal with, and that is wearing on him, as well.
“I think he’s a young player, and he’s grinding through the season,’’ coach Pat Shurmur said. “A lot of things went well for him last year, and he’s grinding through this season. I think there’s a lot to be learned from that. We all grind through it.
