Giants may be forced to use an O-lineman making first NFL start

It is looking more and more likely that Adam Gettis will make his first NFL start for the Giants, needed to fill in at left tackle for Sunday’s game at Cleveland.

Gettis has seen limited action this season — he filled in on offense for nine snaps after Marshall Newhouse injured his knee against the Bengals on Nov. 14. Newhouse is one of three guards ahead of Gettis on the depth chart, but all three are dealing with injuries that are expected to keep them out of action Sunday.

Starter Justin Pugh is coming back from a sprained knee, but did not practice Thursday after participating Wednesday on a limited basis for the first time in three weeks.
