No position on the Giants has been decimated more than safety. And now that spot has taken more huge hits.
Bennett Jackson, a second-year pro who was playing mostly with the first team this summer, suffered a torn right ACL in the Giants' preseason game Saturday night and is out for the season. And rookie Justin Currie suffered a fractured ankle and fibula and is out for the season, too. They are the second and third Giants safeties to suffer season-ending injuries this summer, joining rookie Mykkele Thompson, who tore his Achilles in the preseason opener.
Jackson, a sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame in 2014, missed all of last season too after needing microfracture surgery on his left knee.
