Giants lineman no longer looks like the rookie he is

Second-round pick Will Hernandez has played every snap this season at left guard for the Giants.

That’s a rarity for a rookie, according to offensive line coach Hal Hunter, who said Hernandez’s dramatic improvement has been a key factor in the improved overall play of the unit in the second half of the season entering Sunday’s finale against Dallas.

“For a rookie to play for you, it’s tough. I had a rookie once out in San Diego start for me at left tackle, but he had played in the SEC, so he played against that competition,” Hunter said before practice Friday.
