The last time he played in a real game was the 2013 Pinstripe Bowl, when Notre Dame played Rutgers at Yankee Stadium. That was quite a long time ago, making Friday night’s preseason opener for the Giants a big, big deal for Ishaq Williams.
The former star at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn missed his last two seasons at Notre Dame, as he was suspended in 2014 for academic dishonesty and did not play in 2015 because of issues with the NCAA. The last time Williams actually played in any sort of football game was back in January, in an all-star gathering called the Gridiron Showcase in a place called Bedford, Texas.
