Giants LB Kelvin Sheppard is back 'where I wanted to be' | 4 downs

A familiar face is back with the Giants, as the team re-signed linebacker Kelvin Sheppard after a workout on Tuesday. The seventh-year veteran started 11 games at middle linebacker and made 50 tackles for the Giants last season, but he wasn't re-signed.

Sheppard spent the preseason with the Bears, but he was out of the league after getting released on cut-down day. With linebackers B.J. Goodson (ankle), Devon Kennard (quad) and Keenan Robinson (quad) missing practice this week with injuries, there's a good chance that Sheppard will immediately step back into his starting role at middle linebacker.
