The first practice of training camp arrives Friday and the Giants will have a new receiver, as veteran James Jones, according to a source, has agreed to terms on a one-year deal, contingent on his passing a physical when he arrives at the team facility.
Jones, 31, played seven of his eight NFL seasons with the Packers, and so Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo — a former Packers assistant — knows Jones well. McAdoo no doubt put in a good word about Jones, who has 383 career receptions for 4,971 yards and 43 touchdowns. He is coming off a career-high 73 catches for the Raiders in 2014.
