New York Giants backup quarterback Kyle Lauletta has been charged with eluding police, obstructing justice and resisting arrest after nearly running down a police officer in Weehawken Tuesday morning.
The 23-year-old rookie -- who many believe will get some playing time with the team sporting a 1-7 record -- was also hit with multiple motor vehicle violations, authorities said in a news release.
Lauletta was seen driving his 2017 Jaguar recklessly in the area of the busy Pleasant Avenue approach to Route 495 West at 8 a.m., Weehawken police said. The fourth-round draft pick was in the wrong lane, but attempted to make an illegal right turn anyway, despite instructions by an officer to stay in his marked lane, police said.
