Hurricane Irma and its impending devastation of Florida will be in the back of Jason Pierre-Paul’s mind Sunday night when the Giants meet the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in a nationally televised season opener.
There will be plenty at stake on the field, but also plenty at risk at home in Boca Raton, Fla., where the family of the Pro Bowl defensive end will try to ride out the storm. JPP’s father, Jean, who is blind, and his mother, Marie, are Haitian immigrants who have survived their share of storms in the past.
“I haven’t really talked to them,” Pierre-Paul said in the Giants locker room Friday.
