It’s uncertain if Daniel Jones will be healthy enough to play Sunday. But if he is, the rookie will be the Giants’ starting quarterback, coach Pat Shurmur said on a Tuesday conference call.
“If he’s ready to play, he’ll go back in and play,” Shurmur said.
There has been no thought or discussion, according to Shurmur, in giving Manning one final home start in front of Giants fans. Jones was inactive Monday night, as he tries to recover from a high ankle sprain, and watched Manning make his first start since Week 2, completing 15-of-30 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-17 loss to the Eagles.
