Giants running back Jonathan Stewart returned to the practice field for the first time on Thursday, since being added to short-term injured reserve with a foot injury back on Sept. 28.
Now that Stewart has practiced, the Giants have 21 days to decide whether to bring him back onto the active roster.
If the Giants decide to bring Stewart back, they would have to release someone from the 53-man roster to make room for him.
Prior to suffering the injury, Stewart had been a virtual non-factor in the offense, only logging 17 yards on six carries in three games after signing a mammoth two-year $6.
