Six weeks later, the Giants still have no clue when to expect their best defensive player.
Jason Pierre-Paul, who continues to recover from the July 4 fireworks accident that left him with serious injuries to both hands (and an amputated right index finger), has yet to inform the team when he will return to action, coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday.
“No,” he said simply, when asked if Pierre-Paul had given the club any clarity.
When Pierre-Paul was first injured, reports suggested he might be able to recover in six weeks. He’s now passed that deadline.
Coughlin added that Pierre-Paul is no longer ignoring the club and has “talked to more of our people,” but mostly, the defensive end has talked topics other than football, he said.
