San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks will miss Sunday night’s game against the Giants after his 40-year-old sister, Krsunthia, died from lupus Wednesday, according to reports.
The 49ers haven’t officially ruled Brooks out of Sunday’s contest, according to The Sacramento Bee, but Brooks’ agent, Greg Williams, told multiple outlets that Brooks will not be playing this weekend.
Brooks left the team and traveled to New Orleans to be with his sister, but he didn’t arrive before her death, according to ESPN. Head coach Jim Tomsula said Brooks is away from the team for “family reasons.”
“We’ll just have to see how it goes at the end of the week,” defensive coordinator Eric Mangini said, via The Bee.
