After weeks of losing safeties, the Giants finally managed to add a key one.
In a move that had been anticipated for most of the weekend, veteran Stevie Brown returned to East Rutherford, signing with the Giants on Monday. The Giants released linebacker Victor Butler to open a roster spot for Brown.
Brown, who was released by the Houston Texans on Saturday, almost instantly emerges as potential starter in a safety corps that’s been ravaged by injuries.
“Pretty exciting just being able to come back here,” said Brown. “(Safety) seems like a position of need and it is a good fit.
